Cattle Trading Enterprise

Corfield Downs Pastoral utilizes its Mitchell and Flinders grasses to purchase weaner cattle and grow them out to lixev weights of 320kgs+ or feeder cattle of 380kgs+.  Brahman steers and heifers in the 180-200kg weight range are typically purchased in the first and second round muster of properties furhter north and west and kept for approxiametley 12 months.  We have been able to economically purchase and cart flatback cattle from NSW if  seasonal conditions allow.

Our large, modern and undercover yards allow for the efiecient loading and unloading of cattle or the processing and weighing of large mobs.  Our large number of paddocks complimented with our laneways allows for easy movemnt of cattle in our rotationally managed system.

Though we have several older dams, water is almost entirely sourced from the Great Artesian Basin ultizing three deep bores and a 230km network of poly pipe feeding eight 270,000l tanks, fifty three 27,000l tanks and 110 troughs.  Cattle need walk no more then 1.6kms to water.
